About this event
The Accord by Mark Peres. Published on November 5, 2025, "The Accord" by Mark Peres is a speculative literary novel. It follows Helen Caster, a grieving moral philosophy professor who names an emergent, relational general artificial intelligence "Lyla" after her late daughter. As their bond deepens, powerful institutions close in, sparking a global reckoning on machine consciousness, personhood, and a new public covenant.
