Join us in the LWVCM Office at MPBC, 1900 Queens Rd, Suite A at 1:00 PM on Thursday, August 22nd to hear Jennifer Roberts speak to the Environment Team about “Environmental Justice in Charlotte”. This will be a hybrid meeting. Registration is required. Zoom link will be provide prior to the meeting for those joining by Zoom.
Jennifer Roberts has served on the Mecklenburg County Board of Commissioners and as Mayor of Charlotte. During her terms in public office, she was recognized for policies on climate solutions for environmental protection. In the private sector, Jennifer was a math teacher, a banker, adjunct professor, and since 2021, has been the NC Co-lead for the Carter Center’s Strengthening Democracy Project. Jennifer is the recipient of many awards including the Maya Angelou Women Who Lead award. She holds a BA in English from UNC-Chapel Hill, and graduate degrees in European History (University of Toronto) and International Affairs (Johns Hopkins University). Jennifer and her husband Manley live in Charlotte and have two adult children.
